"Easysteer" A series self build electric steering system. This is our "A series" diy self build kit, its what we use on the majority of our conversions where you need lots of assistance, the A series has good power outputs and is perfect for cars and commercials with heavy steering, our "A series" system will fit into most areas that are to tight for the b/t series system, it come with all you need to build your own steering system including input coller/universal joints/output coupler/interlink shaft/support bracket/steering control unit and a steering controller to make it all power up, also included in all our self build kits are a full set of wiring instructions fuses and holder and plenty of the correct gauge wire to help you with the install, please note we dont supply build instructions as its down to you own interpretation for your application. Before you can consider installing retro fit electric power steering there are a few boxes that need to be ticked, its needs to be 12 volt, it needs to be negative earth , there needs to be space in and around the column to house the gearbox and motor (different systems have different dimensions) also you need to consider wiring and rods that run internally up the column, aswell as external column shifts and traficators etc. At "easysteer" we have our own take on the electric power steering system, which involves quite a bit of machining quite a bit of thinking and quite a bit of cleaver electronics , but in a nutshell we cut the column in two and splice an electric motor in there , wire up some clever electronics and give the vehicle electronic power assistance (if only it was that simple) on any steering system we do regardless of weather its a full install or a column build there are 3 thing we always do, firstly make sure that every joint or coupling we add to the steering system is stronger than whats already fitted, the second thing we do it hide it away as much as is possible, and thirdly make sure all the original equipment fits back on were possible to leave it looking original and untouched. " why fit electric power steering ".

Before you decide to fit electric power steering there are a few pro's and con's you need to consider when you compare it with a hydraulic or even electro hydraulic system, and in our opinion "easysteer" electric power steering tick all the boxes every time. No horse power lose (running belts and pump etc). No extra weight to the car power racks/pipes/pumps/reservoir/fluid. No extra costs either initially or cost over the life of the vehicle (keeping standard rack etc).

No extra junk under the hood, retaining a clean uncluttered engine bay. No noise, totally silent operation.

No extra emissions or other environmental impacts. Steering feel and the ability to control it in various ways (pot/speed/auto controllers). Works without the engine running. Can reverted back to original without visible signs (not that you would).
