Half the size of the original 3-2-1 system's speakers, Bose's patented Gemstone speaker array works in concert with the system's TrueSpace surround processing to deliver a spacious, multichannel presentation from just 2 visible speakers and a hideaway Acoustimass module. The system comes with a central DVD/CD media center, a pair of shelf speakers, a powered Acoustimass module (subwoofer), and everything you need to hook it all up with ease. Using Bose TrueSpace proprietary digital processing circuitry, the 3-2-1 GS. II system improves the sense of spaciousness imparted by stereo recordings and exciting movie effects from Dolby Digital and DTS surround-encoded materials. The DVD/CD player plays your DVD-Video movies (select from NTSC and PAL video formats) and CD-based music, including MP3 files written to recordable CD-R or CD-RW (including artist and title information display). Disc features include repeat and random play, DVD parental controls, forward and reverse chapter/track skip, and scanning within tracks. The component outputs on this unit can be set to pass either progressive or interlaced video. Videostage 5 Decoding Circuitry: This proprietary Bose technology allows you to hear simulated five-channel home theater sound from practically everything you play, even older TV programs and videotapes that weren't recorded in surround sound. Audio Settings: You can adjust the following audio settings. Movie EQ: optimizes the tonal balance for movies. Range Compression: range compression automatically adjusts the volume to allow you to hear soft sounds and to prevent you from being overwhelmed by a loud special effect, such as an explosion.

Mono Decoding: automatically engages Bose Videostage decoding when a mono program is sensed. MP3 Playback: The media center will play MP3 files recorded onto CD-R and CD-RW discs using the ISO 9660 format. Note: Multi-session discs and ID3 tags are not supported. Repeat Play: When playing a DVD, you can repeat the current chapter. When playing an audio CD, you can repeat the current track or the entire disc. Using the AB Repeat feature, you can repeat a portion of a DVD by selecting the starting and stopping points for the section to be repeated. Random Play: When playing an audio CD, you can play the tracks in random order. Multi-Angle Display: This function allows you to choose the viewing angle of scenes that were shot from a number of different angles.

Note: This function is limited to DVDs recorded with multiple camera angles. Once a station is stored in memory, you can select it using the remote control or the on-screen menu. Parental Control: This system allows you to set playback restrictions for DVDs using Parental Control.

Parental Control allows you to restrict playback according to a predetermined level. Sleep Timer: The sleep timer turns the system off after a set period of time.
