The system has been used c. 12x times only for a travelling exhibition and is in very good condition; no significant damage but some light marks on the cabinet commensurate with use. Total cost of new components; c.

Custom made high quality DMX controller /decoder system with 4x outputs comprising the following components. Titanex H07RN-F3G2.5 Cable fitted with 3pin UK plug. Orion FansOD5010-12HSS 12v/0.15A ventilation fan. Automatically adapts to input voltages between DC5- 24V. Input standard DMX512 signal; 3-digit display shows DMXaddress.

32 channel outputs; linear dimming; flicker-freeoutputs. 14 color changing modes and 10 speeds in testmode. Incorrect wiring protection at DMX port. The decodercan operate in DIM / CT / RGB / RGBW control modes.

ThisDMX decoder does exactly what it says on the tin (literally as itsscreen printed case is labelled well and built very sturdily)! I'vehad it a little while now so have had a good chance to put it throughits paces. It accepts any DMX signal I can throw at it (USB to DMXdongle, Zero 88 Console and E1.31/sACN to DMX interface, along with afew testers for good measure)! Configuring the decoder is verysimple, using the three buttons that are under the LED display.

Asit's possible to drive high current loads through the decoder, foursupply inputs are provided. These can be driven from a singlehigh-current power supply or separate ones as necessary. Each inputpowers two groups of four outputs however it should be noted that theground (zero volt) inputs are commoned inside the decoder. Differentvoltage supplies could even be used if you need to power a 5V, 12Vand 24V LED strips simultaneously, for example.

The decoder ispowered from the power supply inputs and seems to require around 90mAat 12V and 40mA at 24V. The outputs (on very good removeableconnector blocks) are arranged for easy connection of RGBW LED stripsalthough can easily be used for any other purpose (within reason)! The outputs can be configured in one, two, three or four channelmodes with the decoder requiring 8, 16, 24 or 32 DMX channels. Thisis one of the few devices that I've found which is switchable between8 and 16-bit modes.

16-bit mode uses two DMX channels per output (16,32, 48 or 64 depending upon the mode). Although seemingly wasteful ofDMX addresses, this gives much, much smoother dimming of each output. Very slow fades are therefore possible with no noticeable steppingbetween levels, naturally the software or console will need tosupport 16-bit dimming.

The PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) of theoutputs is around 490Hz so there's no flickering evident as canhappen with slower PWM. The built-in programs are good for testingthat everything is connected and working correctly but a bit toolimited for anything other than testing. All in all this is a verywell built device and performs exactly as the instructions say itshould. Highly recommended if you need high-powered dimming withoptions to control different voltage LED strips and a 16-bit mode. Panel Mount Twin USBpower socket 12/24v 2x1A; loose, unfitted to cabinet.

Excellentsolution for small to medium gig lighting. Worthevery penny - hasn't failed me yet and still room to grow. I was newto gig lighting and had been using a simple ADJ Hexcon controller tocontrol simple light colours and strobes but had recently acquiredsome moving lights and some blinders and wanted to put together amore interesting performance.

Having researched all manner ofdedicated lighting control boards - way over my budget and stillunsure whether they would handle things, I found this ADJ MyDMX 3.0box and decided the price was worth the risk. Pros: Small : easy topack/unpack and easy to connect to PC I'm using an old Apple MiniMac but it works with Windows laptops/PCs etc. Rugged : It'staken bit of a bashing with various gig and rehearsal sessions -still looks and works as if new. Flexible : In addition to the 3-pinand 5-pin DMX connections, it also has a connector for wiring upspecial switch triggers around the stage - I haven't used that yetbut can't wait to give it a go (perhaps triggering foot switches tostrobe scene triggers).

Loads of interfaces : In addition to the minimac display interface, I also connected a simple (and cheap) midicontroller so I could hit buttons to trigger particular effects andturn knobs to change blinder intensity etc. Con: Only one downside -and it's not too bad. In the last gig we had movinglights, lasers, strobes, blinders and various washes/spots - and itwas a lot of fun to run the lights through the myDMX software. Recently I bought a couple of second-hand Robe Blinder units and wasreally pleased to find that this unit was included in the library offixtures - so that's been added to the set.

I know a lot ofprofessionals use things like GrandMa consoles etc - and I'm surethey have their place - but for small and medium performances I thinkthe myDMX software and the ADJ MyDMX interface is the best option byfar.
