This listing is for a Gecko G540 Stepper Plasma Motion Controller package featuring a Proma THC 150 Torch Height Controller. Please review the video overview below of me covering the system in detail. The video reflects this system has been built with the level of detail required to provide a commercial grade plasma motion control system. This system is built turnkey with these components. 48v 12.5a power supply 110v/220v selectable (Calibrated with a FLUKE 179 TRUE RMS multimeter). 48v Sanyo Industrial brushless 100,000 hour rated cooling fan (rated at 65CFM) and G540 heatsink package installed with thermal adhesive.

EMI dipped shielded pre-milled aluminum enclosure with all required switches, and ports. Complete custom graphics package for servicing, and setting up the system easily based on your particular system. All graphics are applied to pro-grade permanent adhesive vinyl, and then laminated for maximum durability.

Nema 23 300oz/in (18.75in/lbs) dual 8mm dual shaft 3.5a steppers with matching resistors. 20awg double shielded pre-built 300v 80c rated motor cables with DB9 male, and female connectors with gold plated pins. DB25 male to male parallel port cable for PC to system communication. GX-16 3 pin male panel mount connector with dust cover installed in rear of enclosure for pass through to the relay to cycle your torch on, and off. (3rd pin is allocated to shield drain for grounding).

GX-16 3 pin female plug installed on a 20ft 22awg double shielded cable to run to your torch to cycle it on, and of from the relay. GX-16 5 pin male panel mount connector with dust cover installed in the rear of the enclosure for pass through to the G540 from the THC (5th pin is allocated to shield drain for grounding).

This includes a custom built tinned braided copper shielded cable for the signal leads run to the G540 from the PROMA. GX-16 5 pin female plug installed on a 18/4 double shielded to interface with your Proma THC mounted at your plasma's base. This will have ferrules installed both soldered, and crimped for the least possible resistance. 48v 30a relay installed with tool less mounts, and ferrites installed on its signal line for maximum signal protection against EMI.

This is used to cycle your torch on, and off. Power supply V- terminal splitter installed with tool less mounts to support THC. This is done to prevent "Daisy Chaining" which is against best practice per Gecko Drive. 24v 3a power supply (DC Brick Model) with installed DC inline switch using a 5.5mm barrel connector to bare leads with ferrules installed to power the Proma THC. This provides maximum signal stability at 24v. Support is also included from the distributor directly should you require it. The Proma THC system must be mounted to your plasma's base unit.

This is discussed in the Proma's users manual on page 4 for maximum accuracy reading the voltages put out by your torch. This assures the units internal relays that adjust the up, and down movement of the torch head is as accurate as possible. The system features tripe fuse protection.

The power supply has an internal fuse, drive has internal fuse, as well as an external chassis mounted fuse. The external chassis one is the easiest to replace rated at 250v 10a. The enclosure features an IEC power port, and auxiliary 120v outlet to power other items requiring 120v up to 5a. The power switch is illuminated to reflect "on" status, and a twist, and release E-Stop switch is installed. The system is then wired with 16AWG wire, 20AWG is used for the E-Stop Switch as it doesn't receive current. The E-stop also features its own tinned braided copper shielded cable built by me using silicone leads for maximum flexability, and maximum EMI portection. The cable is then ground drained properly to the base of the power supply with ring connector. Each terminal connection is soldered first utilizing Kester 186 (no clean) Flux, and then Kester #44 solder, followed by installing heatshrink for insulation to provide safety. The wires are secured internally with wire ties, and hold downs for optimal airflow. The aluminum enclosure measures 12in long x 12in wide x 4in high, and is (1.5mm in thickness) with integrated cooling slots throughout to aid in cooling the components. The Gecko includes my Avvid Thermalloy custom heatsinks preinstalled with Thermal Epoxy , and a Sanyo brushless 100,000 hour industrial 60mm cooling fan that puts out.

The cooling system installed in this system allows for removal of the G540 WITHOUT having to remove the fan or heatsinks for ease of maintenance. Unscrew 4 screws, and the Gecko is out!

The Gecko must utilize a heatsink fan combination in any enclosure to prevent overheating. This isn't an option. The system's GX-16 three, and five pin panel mount connectors with dust protectors are installed in the rear panel for access to the system's drive, and installed 48v 30a relay. The GX 16 5 pin connector features a custom built tinned braided copper shielded wiring harness utilizing silicone wires for maximum flexability, and heat resistance. This harness is run to your G540's inputs to control the THC. The cable is then properly ground drained by allowing the bare tinned copper shield over the harness to contact the rear panel of the chassis which is conductive, and grounded. This provides your system the least amount of real estate to be used allowing room for other components should you require installing additional ones, or for future expansion. The system is then completed with the application of pro-grade vinyl graphics which are then laminated for maximum protection. The graphics are custom made based on your individual configuration of components for simple setup, and streamlined servicing as reflected in the overview video.

This allows you to easily work on your own system without the typical proprietary mess associated with other vendors. The system is then tested for motion, and voltage calibrated with a FLUKE 179 TRUE RMS mutimeter for unparalleled accuracy.

All cables included with this system are double shielded for maximum electrical noise protection (EMI). This is required for any Plasma system, and should not be overlooked.
